An angry mob attacked a 25-year-old man, injuring him, after he brutally murdered a 22-year-old woman in Kitengela, Kajiado County, over an alleged affair.
According to reports, the deceased turned down the man’s advances, and he then stabbed her to death.
The Friday night incident, which took place inside a restaurant, was confirmed by Kajiando County Police Commander Muthuri Mwongera.
He said the suspect, who is a coworker of the deceased at the restaurant, left work early and later returned and waited for the woman outside before carrying out the heinous act.
The man was then attacked by witnesses, who inflicted serious injuries on him.
Mwongera says the suspect is being treated in a Kitangela hospital and will be arraigned on Monday.
The deceased’s body has since been taken to Shalom Hospital Mortuary while investigations into the case continue.
