Man Arrested in Mumias with Cannabis Worth KSh 300,000

Police in Mumias West Sub-County, Kakamega County, have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with drug trafficking after intercepting him with narcotics valued at KSh 300,000.

According to authorities, the arrest took place yesterday, September 19, 2025, along the Bungoma–Mumias road in Lukoye village. Acting on intelligence, officers intercepted the suspect and found him in possession of 40 brooms of cannabis sativa, which were seized as evidence.

The suspect is currently being held in custody and will be arraigned in court to face charges related to drug trafficking.

In a statement, the National Police Service commended the officers involved in the operation for their vigilance and reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying the fight against illegal drugs and related crimes.
