Man Arrested in Narok for Impersonating KDF Sergeant

A man was arrested on Friday in Narok Town for impersonating a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) sergeant after residents reported their suspicions to local authorities.

The man, who had been terrorizing residents while posing as a military officer, was apprehended following a tip-off from the public.

A woman who had been living with the suspect for several days told police that he would leave for undisclosed locations at night and spend the entire day sleeping.

Narok Central Sub-county Commander John Momanyi confirmed that the woman appeared unaware of the man’s criminal activities.

During a search of the suspect’s residence, police recovered multiple ID cards belonging to different individuals, along with uniforms from both the Kenya Airforce and Kenya Army.

The man’s identity did not match any KDF records, prompting police to send his fingerprints to the National Registration Bureau for identification.

Residents had also claimed the man was linked to a local criminal gang.

Commander Momanyi thanked the community for their vigilance and urged landlords to keep accurate records of their tenants.

Narok has recently seen a rise in suspicious murders, with 10 bizarre cases reported in September alone, further heightening fears of criminal activity in the town.

Key suspects in the killings have been arrested and are awaiting prosecution.
