A man has been arraigned for allegedly vandalizing a billboard belonging to Magnate Ventures Limited, valued at Ksh 122,500, along Mbagathi Road on November 7, 2025.
The accused, identified as Evans, denied the charges as he appeared before the Milimani Law Court, where he was formally charged with malicious damage to property.
According to the prosecution, Evans is accused of willfully destroying the outdoor advertising structure owned by Magnate Ventures, a leading media and signage company in Kenya.
During the hearing, Evans told the court that he had been assaulted while in police custody, claiming the injuries had left him in poor health. He pleaded for medical attention, saying he had been mistreated during his detention.
In response, the presiding magistrate ordered that the accused be taken to hospital for treatment and directed the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) to record his statement regarding the alleged assault.
The court granted Evans a cash bail of Ksh 30,000 pending trial and summoned the investigating officer to present a report on the case during the next mention.
The matter is scheduled for mention on November 13, 2025, when the court will review the investigation report and confirm the accused’s medical status.
