A young man was today arraigned in Court facing charges of forging several National Identity cards in the name of different people.
The suspect in count one is accused of forging a National ID in the name of Lynet Wetende Leah purporting it to have been issued by the National Registration Bureau.
Further, he is accused of forging six other National IDs in the name of Peter Maingi, Jane Wakiuru, Eric Mugambi, Samuel Agesa, Mary Mungai and Elizabeth Wamaitha.
The suspect denied the charges before Magistrate Gilbert Shikwe at Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi and was released on Ksh 200,000 with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 100,000.
It is not clear why the suspect forged the numerous IDs bearing particulars of different people although police believe they might have been used in committing various crimes including cyber fraud.
