A young man was today charged in a Nairobi Court for publishing false information about the Ongoing Gen Z protests alluding the published information emanates from Hussein Mohammed, the Government Spokesperson.
Alinur Mohamed Bulle was arraigned before Magistrate Robinson Ondikei at Milimani Law Courts where the prosecution alleged that on July 15, 2024, he published a false information via his X social media account showing that the current Government Spokesperson as the author and in support of the Countrywide protests against President Ruto.
According to the charge sheet, he published information captioned “I’m a journalist turned statehouse spokesperson, but I can’t stand this propaganda anymore. It’s against my ethics to lie. I’d rather lose my job than compromise my Principles. #RutoMustGo #AngukaNayo,” falsely showing Hussein Mohammed, MBS as the author with the intent that the data will be acted upon as authentic.
Appearing before Magistrate Robinson Ondieki, the accused denied the charge and was released on Ksh 30,000 cash bail.
The matter will proceed on August.
