A man was on Friday, 31, October 2025 arraigned before the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi for allegedly masterminding two separate break-ins at electronics shops within the city’s central business district, resulting in losses exceeding Ksh 4 million.

Robinson Warui Mureithi was charged with four counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, burglary and stealing, offences said to have been committed between October 15 and 16, 2025, at Tembo Building in Nairobi County.

According to the charge sheet, Mureithi, together with others not before the court, allegedly broke into a shop known as Angeltech Computers, where laptops and accessories valued at Ksh 3,717,400 were stolen. The property is reported to belong to Robinson Ngehi Koshi.

He also faces an additional charge of conspiring to break into Sios ICT Hub, located in the same building, where electronic items valued at Ksh 770,500, property of Shadrack Mbugua Kuria, were reportedly stolen.

The prosecution stated that Mureithi and his accomplices, who remain at large, carried out the burglaries during the night and escaped with the stolen items.

Mureithi denied all the charges when presented before the court. His defence counsel urged the court to grant bail, arguing that the accusations were unfounded and that the prosecution should present tangible evidence.

The prosecution, however, opposed lenient bail terms, citing the seriousness of the offences and the high monetary value involved.

After considering the submissions, the court granted Mureithi a bond of Ksh 5 million or an alternative cash bail of Ksh 2 million, with a condition to provide two contact persons before release.

The case will be mentioned for pre-trial on November 19, 2025, to confirm the status of investigations before trial proceedings commence.
