A man has been arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi for allegedly stealing electronic devices worth more than KSh 340,000 from an apartment complex in the city’s Central Business District.
Zablon Udana Chabene appeared before the court on Monday, where he was charged with stealing contrary to Section 268(1) as read with Section 275 of the Penal Code.
According to the charge sheet, Chabene, jointly with others not present in court, allegedly broke into a house along Koinange Street on October 27, 2025 and stole several electronics.
The stolen items are listed as a Lenovo laptop valued at Ksh 85,000, an HP Omen 16 laptop worth Ksh 35,600, a Dell XPS 25 (9570) valued at KSh 29,750 and a Nikon DSLR camera worth Ksh 190,000 all belonging to one Joseph Njenga Nganga.
The accused was arrested on October 31, 2025 and later presented in court on November 3, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
He will remain in custody until Tuesday, November 4, 2025, when the court is expected to rule on his bail and bond application.
The case is being investigated by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), as efforts continue to apprehend other suspects connected to the theft.
