Before today’s exciting Manchester derby match against Manchester United, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola provided some injury updates.
In an interview with the media prior to this crucial match, Guardiola revealed that John Stones, an English international who was substituted against Germany in midweek due to a hamstring injury, will not be playing for City.
The 28-year-return old’s was given an approximate time frame by City’s head coach, who nonetheless officially eliminated the defender from today’s match against Manchester United.
“It won’t be four, five, or six weeks; it’ll be less,” said Guardiola. I don’t know when he’ll return, but I imagine it will be within the next 10 to 2 weeks.
The 28-year-old has made a significant contribution lately, even scoring a powerful long-range goal in the Champions League matchup against Borussia Dortmund.
Guardiola’s team, led by star summer acquisition Erling Haaland, has been exciting at times as they attempt to win the domestic championship for a third straight season.
Erik ten Hag, on the other hand, wants to shock City, and on a derby day, it’s probably more meaningless than ever.
