A middle-aged man was killed instantly when a car wheel he was inflating at a fuel station in Narok town exploded and struck him.
Confirming the incident, John Momanyi, the central Narok area police commander, explained that the tire unexpectedly burst while being inflated, striking the man.
He was launched into the air by the explosion and landed headfirst, killing him instantly.
“While repairing the wheel of the car, as he was continuing to inflate it, the wheel suddenly burst and was able to injure the one who was performing that repair work,” Momanyi said.
“Unfortunately, we lost him,” he continued.
The body of the deceased was taken to the Narok Referral Hospital mortuary.
Momanyi expressed his condolences to the family on the loss of a loved one.
“We would like to send our condolences to the family who has lost our dear one,” he said
The police commander called on individuals in that line of work to exercise caution and prioritize their safety by having the necessary safety equipment.
“Those helmets they wear are crucial so that in the event of something like this, they are not injured, as we witnessed today, “he said.
