The Kabarnet Law Courts sentenced a middle-aged man to serve 30 years in prison for defiling two children aged four (4) and three (3) years.
According to the prosecution,the offence was committed on 12th August 2023 at Eldume Sub-Location, Illchamus Location in Baringo South Sub-County within Baringo County.
The accused had been charged with two counts of defilement under Section 8(1) of the Sexual Offences Act.
He was also facing two alternative counts of committing an indecent act with a child under Section 11(1) of the Sexual Offences Act based on the same facts.
The prosecution, led by Claire Kosgei and Collins Ogutu, availed nine (9) witnesses and presented pertinent evidence to support the charges.
In his sentencing, the presiding Magistrate, Hon. Koskey concluded that the prosecution had proven their case beyond reasonable doubt.
