A middle-aged man was arraigned in Court facing charges of attempted murder contrary to section 220 of the Penal Code.
Allan Musili Mwatha was charged that on September 19, 2022 at the NHIF building in Upper Hill, unlawfully attempted to cause the death of Rashebah Nduta Wanja by stabbing her multiple times using a kitchen knife.
He denied the charges before Hon. Bernard Ochoi at Milimani Law Courts.
His defence lawyer, however, approached the court with a psychiatric report from Kenyatta National Hospital in an attempt to convince the court that the accused person is mentally unfit to stand trial.
The court ordered that the accused person be remanded in custody and later on be escorted to Mathare Mental Hospital for mental examination and the police to file a report of his mental health.
