Following a disagreement with his wife, a 23-year-old man in Gatanga Murang’a county slammed his 4-month-old son against the wall, killing him on the spot.
According to a report filed at the Kihumbuini Police Station, Mark Njunguna had raised suspicions about the child’s paternity, which led to the conflict.
The defendant, who is being held by police pending further investigation, warned his wife, Muthoni Kariuki, 23, not to disclose the incident, threatening to murder her if she did.

Muthoni, on the other hand, managed to get out of the house after the incident at 1.30 a.m. and alerted her father-in-law Stephen Njuguna.
“My daughter-in-law ran to my house screaming that her husband had murdered their infant boy,” he stated.
“We’re still stunned because we don’t understand why someone would commit such a horrific crime and murder an innocent child,” Kiguro continued.
The deceased was transferred to Gen Kago mortuary in Thika for a postmortem while police investigated further.
