Man Kills Mother, Chops Her Body Into Pieces in Kirinyaga

A 30-year-old man from Riakinia village in Ndia Constituency, Kirinyaga County, hacked his 56-year-old mother to death with a machete on Thursday night.

Murimi Maina, the assailant, allegedly attacked his mother, Jane Nyambura Maina, over a disagreement over coffee crops grown on a parcel of land.

According to Kirinyaga West Sub-County Police Commander Moses Koskei, the heinous murder was motivated by Nyambura allegedly destroying 20 coffee plants that Murimi, a butcher by trade, had grown on her property.

Murimi reportedly warned his mother that her actions would have serious consequences before hacking her to death.

“He made good his threat and killed her by cutting her body into pieces,” said the police commander.
The accused is then reported to have fled the scene after the attack.
The body of the deceased has since been moved to Kerugoya Hospital mortuary as a manhunt for Murimi continues.
