A man has pleaded guilty to stealing three bibles from Naivas Supermarket.
Alex Muiruri Ngadayo pleaded guilty to an offense of stealing contrary to section 268 and 275 of the Penal Code.
The prosecution submitted that on January 23 2022 at Naivas Lifestyle along Koinange street in Nairobi, he stole three Revised Standard Holy Bibles, the property of Naivas Limited.
Further, the prosecution argued that the accused was caught on CCTV Camera at the said Supermarket hiding the bibles under his shirt.
He was apprehended as he exited the supermarket without paying for the concealed bibles.
He could not give an explanation as to why he had not paid for the same.He was arrested and escorted to central police station.
The three said bibles were valued at Ksh 3,240.
The prosecution informed the Court that although the accused person has no criminal records, he is a known shoplifter and he deserve a sentence that will serve a deterrence effect.
The Court directed the probation to prepare a pre-sentence report and submit the same to the Court on 9th April 2022 before sentencing.
