An employee has been arraigned in court after he was accused of stealing Ksh. 1 Million worth of liquor from a local distillery.
John Muiruri Mumbi was charged with stealing 625 cartons of Liquor.
Prosecution told Court the employee, on diverse dates between 27th August 2021 and 5th October 2021 stole liquor cartons valued at Sh 1,188,180 from Platinum distillers.
He was entitled with selling the alcohol and remitting the proceeds thereafter. After selling alcohol worth sh 1.2 M, the accused disappeared in thin air.
He was later arrested and charged with stealing by agent.
Mr. Muiruri pleaded guilty before Hon Bernard Ochoi SPM,
The Court Ordered him to be booked to custody awaiting pre sentencing report.
