Man United Close in On Raphael Varane and Kieran Trippier

Manchester United is close to completing a surprise £68 million double transfer bid for Raphael Varane and Kieran Trippier.

The Red Devils have already signed a £72.9 million deal for Jadon Sancho, with an official announcement anticipated soon, and are now focusing on improving their defense.

Real Madrid defender Varane’s representatives have been in contact, and The Sun reports that the World Cup winner has agreed to move to Old Trafford.

United’s administration had feared that the Frenchman was leveraging their support to secure a lucrative new contract at the Bernabeu.

If both moves are completed for those sums, United’s summer spending will total around £140 million before the first pre-season friendly is played.

Trippier’s versatility is a significant plus for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who can use him at right-back, left-back, or wing-back. He’s also considered as a more attacking option than Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
