Man Utd open to selling £60m-rated Alejandro Garnacho

Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho could soon be on his way out of Old Trafford.

Napoli have offered £38 million, including add-ons, for Garnacho. However, Man United want more than £60m to sanction his exit, according to journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

The Red Devils will reportedly make unemotional judgements on all outgoings.

The 20-year-old has found it hard to adapt to the new playing style brought in by manager Ruben Amorim.

Amorim has adopted a 3-4-2-1 formation, which challenges Garnacho’s natural instincts as a winger. He thrives on staying wide and cutting in with the ball.

Amorim wants two number 10s behind a centre-forward. The Argentina international has been used in that position, but he has yet to impress.

Garnacho is too weak defensively to play as a wing-back. He has played 12 times under Amorim but most of his appearances have been as a substitute.

The talented attacker got a rare start in United’s fantastic FA Cup victory over Arsenal on Sunday.

It was his best performance since the change of the coaching set-up. He displayed superb vision to find Bruno Fernandes for the opening strike.

After Diogo Dalot was dismissed, Garnacho displayed resilience as the right wing-back.

He won all three of his aerial duels and made eight defensive actions. He was dispossessed only twice and tested David Raya with a shot.

Selling Garnacho would be pure profit for United, but they must resist any temptation to do so. He is very young and needs time to acclimatise to the new system.
