Stephen Kimani, popularly known as “Kimaa”, was today arraigned before the Thika Law Courts, where he faced a serious charge of violent robbery.
According to the charge sheet, the offence occurred on July 14, 2025, at around 10:00 PM in the Burudika area of Thika.
Kimani, together with others not before the court, is accused of robbing Seith Andera of his Samsung A13 mobile phone valued at Ksh 9,000 and Ksh 2,400 in cash.
The charge further stated that immediately before or during the robbery, the accused and his accomplices wounded the complainant.
Before the charges were formally read, the court assistant informed Kimani that the offence he was facing attracts a death sentence if found guilty.
Kimani, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge and claimed that it was a case of mistaken identity. He further requested that the complainant be present during the mention of the case.
The magistrate granted Kimani a cash bail of Ksh 200,000 and an alternative bond of Ksh 1 million.
The court scheduled the mention of the case on August 29, 2025, and the full hearing on November 12, 2025.
