Manchester United have reportedly placed Harry Kane on their radar as a top summer transfer target, amid growing speculation that the Bayern Munich striker could exit Germany.
Kane joined Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 for a fee of around €100 million and has since been prolific scoring 98 goals in 103 appearances across competitions.
Despite his goalscoring exploits, silverware has been limited: his only major honor with Bayern to date is the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Under the terms of his contract, Kane possesses a €65 million release clause that could be triggered in 2026, provided he formally notifies Bayern of his intention to depart before the winter transfer window closes. Additionally, Tottenham reportedly hold matching rights on any valid offer.
United’s interest reflects a need to strengthen their attacking options following a sluggish start to the 2025–26 Premier League season. Should Kane decide to activate his exit clause, the Red Devils would likely face stiff competition not only from Tottenham, but from Chelsea, Barcelona, and other major European clubs.
At age 32, Kane remains at the peak of his powers, continuing to deliver consistently in front of goal. But whether Bayern will allow one of Europe’s most dangerous strikers to depart remains to be seen.
