By the end of 2022, the Uasin Gishu County government aims to install 9004 LED street lights in metropolitan areas and a new trading centre across the county to stimulate a 24-hour business.
The lighting project will enable businesses to function in a secure atmosphere, according to the county’s 2018-2022 Integrated Development Plan (CIDP).
Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago stated that the county had exceeded the lighting connectivity objective by over 1,400 LED Street Lights in both rural and urban regions this year.
According to the governor, 6,404 LED Street Lights have been erected, as well as 30 High Mast and 32 15m floodlights.
Furthermore, 256 solar lights have been put throughout the county.
