A police officer in Mandera was slain during an alleged altercation between two women.
According to a police report obtained by Nairobi News, Felix Kinyua was discovered in the area laying in a pool alongside a road.
Police identified him as their colleague and found that it had knife wounds.
According to the report, police officers were alerted to the presence of a wounded officer in some nearby plots at 7 o’clock.
They hurried to the spot and discovered the deceased lying on the road with blood seeping from a stab wound to the left collar bone.
The report states that once an alert was raised, Mr. Kinyua was taken by ambulance to Mandera Referral Hospital, where he was treated by the hospital’s medical staff.
Later on, the officer passed away from his wounds.
The Sub County police chief and his colleagues went to the spot.
Investigations into the death were started, and it was discovered that the deceased officer had gone to a nearby hotel for dinner where he had met one patron, Donny Chokera, and a waitress named Judy Kadogo.
The deceased officer was stabbed as a result of an altercation between Ms. Judy and Ms. Kanana that started as he was giving an order.
The murder weapon has already been found, the three suspects in the death of Mr. Kinyua have been taken into jail, and their court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, July 12.
