A Mandera resident has written to Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif, requesting information on the candidates for county chief officers.
According to Mr Abdullahi Mohammed, the list of nominees is skewed and appears to have been predetermined.
He also claims that some of those chosen for various positions do not meet the established criteria of ten years of experience, five of which must have been in leadership or management.
Mr Mohammed also claims that the county manager added five positions to the initial list of 28 that was advertised on September 26.
“I am writing to you to request information on individuals who have been nominated for the five extra slots without a competitive process,” Mr Mohammed said.
According to Mr Mohammed, some of the proposed candidates graduated last year and thus do not meet the job requirements.
According to the resident, the recruitment process is governed by the County Government Act and the constitution, and the governor must follow the law.
