Maraga chickens out, withdraws NIS advisory from row with Executive

Chief Justice David Maraga has absolved NIS from blame in the ongoing supremacy wars with the Executive over appointment of Court of Appeal Judges.

Maraga, through his lawyers, withdrew the NIS advisory letter from court records after advice from legal experts.

It is not clear why the experts had advised him to append the letter in the first place.

Uzalendonews reported three weeks ago that NIS had advised against the nomination of some of the appellate judges over pending graft investigations by other agencies of the Government.

The case is before Justice Makau.
