Former Chief Justice (Emeritus) David Maraga, Senator Okiya Omtatah, and Dr. Reuben Kigame are set to hold a joint press conference on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, to challenge eight controversial laws recently signed by President William Ruto.
According to a statement from the David Maraga Presidential Campaign Secretariat, the briefing will take place at 12 noon in the Duma Room of the Panafric Hotel, Nairobi.

The eight laws, which President Ruto signed into law on October 15, 2025, the same day opposition leader Raila Odinga passed away cover a wide range of governance and regulatory areas. They include amendments to the Cybercrimes Act, Privatization of State Firms, Land Governance, Wildlife Management, Police Powers, Digital Assets Regulation, and Air Travel and Civil Aviation frameworks.
The press conference is organized under the Maraga ’27 campaign banner, part of the former Chief Justice’s 2027 presidential initiative themed Reset, Restore, Rebuild.
