Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is reportedly on the cusp of joining Aston Villa on loan, with the Villans moving to secure the services of the unsettled English striker.
According to sources, Rashford’s representatives have been in talks with Villa, who are keen to add the 27-year-old to their ranks on a temporary basis.
The move comes on the heels of Villa’s decision to sell Colombian striker Jhon Duran to Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League. Rashford, who has been linked with AC Milan, Barcelona, and Tottenham, is believed to be eager to leave Old Trafford in search of a “new challenge” and rehabilitate his reputation.
United boss Ruben Amorim has expressed frustration with Rashford, stating that he would have to “change his ways completely” to regain his place in the squad.
With Rashford missing 12 consecutive matches, it now seems likely that he will exit the club before the January transfer deadline.
Meanwhile, United has bolstered their defensive ranks with the signing of England Under-19 international Ayden Heaven from Arsenal for a reported £1 million compensation fee. The 18-year-old centre-back has signed a contract until 2029 with the option of a further year.
“It’s an incredible feeling to join Manchester United,” Heaven said of his move. “I’m grateful for the opportunity and I look forward to contributing to the squad’s success.”
United manager Amorim expressed his excitement over the signing, stating: “Ayden is an exciting talent, and we’re pleased to bring him on board. We believe he has the potential to become a top defender for this club.”
