Martha Karua Faults Chebukati, IEBC

Dr. Martha Karua

NARC Kenyan President Martha Karua has chastised the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for failing to call a stakeholder meeting to discuss the upcoming general elections.

Despite the fact that the elections are barely eight months away, Karua noted that the IEBC has yet to organize a conference to address the difficulties that have arisen in prior elections and find solutions.

According to her, the commission is required by law to make all of its plans public in order to ensure that the elections are free, fair, verifiable, and accountable.

Karua requested IEBC Chair Wafula Chebukati to tell the country how the poll agency will ensure free, fair, verifiable, and accountable elections.

Karua’s comments came a month after the Political Parties Liaison Committee (PPLC) chastised Chebukati for failing to include them in key choices the commission is making in the run-up to the 2022 general elections.
