After a heated debate in Nairobi yesterday with his opponent for the Deputy President seat, Rigathi Gachagua, Raila’s Deputy Matha Karua has already arrived in Kirinyaga, her home county, for a series of meetings.
The meetings today are part of her plan to popularize the Azimio coalition.
Karua landed at Roswarm Hotel in Kirinyaga and was welcomed by local women affiliated with the Azimio la Umoja team.
The team showed love and joy to the leader, who will be making her first attempt as a deputy president to be elected as a woman in the country.
She is expected to attend a women’s meeting today to discuss, among other things, the role women can play in running the country’s economy and Raila’s pledge to the women about the country’s future.
She is also expected to campaign for Raila Odinga and his Azimio team.
