Angela Wanjala Kapombe, the mother to Citizen TV Swahili news anchor, Mashirima Kapombe was laid to rest on October 10, 2024, in Kilifi County.

The funeral, marked by a palpable sense of loss and an outpouring of love, was attended by Citizen TV Swahili news anchor, Mashirima Kapombe, along with an assemblage of dignitaries and journalists, all coming together to celebrate the life of a beloved matriarch.

Angela, who passed away on September 25 at Kenyatta National Hospital, was remembered as an exemplary mother, devoted wife, and a cherished friend.

Her husband, Dr. Patrick Kenga Kapombe, mourned the loss of his confidant and lifelong partner, describing Angela as a steadfast pillar in both their home and community.

“Her impact on our lives and the lives she touched is immeasurable,” he told those gathered, as he recounted tales of her unwavering support and compassion. Mashirima, visibly emotional yet composed, delivered a heartfelt tribute to her mother, expressing gratitude for the profound love and values instilled in her throughout her life.

Angela leaves behind three children—Mashirima, Fiona, and Eugene—and cherished grandchildren, Kenga, Zion Peter, and Ziva Angela, who will carry forward her legacy of love and devotion. Her family stood united in their grief, reflecting the strong bonds she cultivated during her lifetime.

The atmosphere was somber yet celebratory, as colleagues from Royal Media Services, including Editorial Director Linus Kaikai, gathered to offer their support.
