A large-scale Russian drone strike in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro resulted in the deaths of three people, including a child, and left at least 30 others injured on Wednesday evening, according to the regional governor.
Serhiy Lysak, the governor of Dnipropetrovsk, shared the tragic news on Telegram, stating that among the wounded were five children, with 16 of the injured requiring hospital treatment.
Dnipro’s mayor, Borys Filatov, revealed that one of the drone strikes landed just 100 meters from the city’s municipal offices. He also reported significant damage to at least 15 residential buildings, a student dormitory, a school, and a food processing plant.
Images shared online depicted scenes of intense fires, with firefighters working late into the night to control the blaze. The photos also showed destroyed vehicles, shattered windows, and severely damaged building exteriors.
In the northeastern Kharkiv region, Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that a Russian missile attack in the town of Izium injured two people. Izium was initially seized by Russian forces in the early days of the February 2022 invasion but was later recaptured by Ukrainian troops later that year.
