The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has secured a life sentence against a man convicted of defiling an 11 year old child.
The Maua Magistrate’s Court sentenced Bonface Kanampiu to life imprisonment after finding that the prosecution had proved the defilement charges against him beyond reasonable doubt.
Prosecution Counsel Kelvin Gitonga told the court that the accused committed the offence on January 7, 2023, in Igembe Central Sub-County, where he defiled the minor aged 11 years.
The prosecution presented seven witnesses in support of the case, whose testimonies were relied upon by the court in reaching its decision.
The court subsequently convicted and sentenced the accused to life imprisonment in accordance with the law.
