Dante Brooks the son to dancehall artist Mavado has been sentenced for life after he was found guilty of the murder of Lorenzo Thomas during a home invasion. – By Stephanie Mwangi.
Dante was tried alongside his accomplice Andre Hinds before the Supreme Court judges in the Home circuit court and he was then convicted of murder, arson and illegal possession of a gun and ammunition.
He was sentenced for 20 years for illegal possession of firearms and sentenced 15 years for arson and he will serve 22 years before he becomes eligible for parole.
The victim’s father say that Dante and Andre were positioned near his fence for several hours before the shooting happened.
Then later that night they stormed Lorenzo’s bedroom at 3 am and shot him multiple times thereafter the poured gasoline all-round the house and on the body and later set both of them on fire
According to the Jamaican force Lorenzo’s killing was a retaliation from a shooting incident that involved Dante’s father Mavado in a cassava piece involving his son and another man.
