Rallystar Maxine Wahome will enter her murder plea on March 15, pending a mental assessment test.

She requested that she be taken for a psychiatric examination before taking plea.

The DPP informed a lower court on Tuesday that he had approved murder charges against her in the investigation into her late fiancé Asad Khan.

Wahome will be charged with murder on Wednesday, according to the prosecution.

“The DPP has now made a decision to charge the suspect with murder. He has further informed the court that the respondent is required today virtually for directions, I therefore direct her to be presented virtually before Justice Mutende” Ochoi said.

Wahome was arrested in December 2022 and was being investigated for assault and serious bodily injury, however, following Khan’s death, the DPP upgraded the charges to murder.

In June 2022, Wahome made history by becoming the first female to win the WRC3 at the age of 26.
