Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula announced the death of Kisa East MCA Stephen Maloba on Saturday, April 1.
Savula claimed that the MCA was stabbed to death in a fight with a local MP while speaking to residents in Malava, Kakamega, at Faruk Kibet’s thanksgiving ceremony.
Maloba, who had been elected on a KANU ticket, died after a fracas between supporters of the two camps.
“We would like to stay here longer, but we can’t. Apologies for that. An MCA has just passed away in Khwisero Constituency.
“He was stabbed after a confrontation ensued between two camps, his and that of an MP,” Savula claimed.
Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale added that the MCA was killed due to political indifferences.
“I was in a good mood, but that has ruined it. The young man they killed was in my house for breakfast the other day. He was to vie on UDA, but he joined KANU and won.
“They have killed him. I am going there to console them and not to cause more chaos,” Khalwale added.
The senator, and deputy governor announced that they would accompany Kakamega governor, Fernandes Barasa, to grace the funeral.
