Police are looking into an incident in which a female student at Kenya Medical Training College in Meru was found dead in her room.
Lydiah Karimi’s body was discovered in her single rented room after she died of suffocation.
According to police who arrived on the scene on Thursday, April 13 morning, a manager at the flat in the Mini Village area found the woman dead.
The manager told police that the room was filled with smoke from burning meat on a gas cooker.
The woman is suspected of suffocating while cooking the meat.
An investigation is currently underway to determine what caused her death.
The body was taken to a local mortuary for an autopsy.
