Michelle Obama: USA Is Not Ready for A Female President

Michelle Obama has sparked a fresh wave of chatter after saying the United States still is not ready for a woman president, using Kamala Harris’ failed White House bid as Exhibit A.

Speaking at an event in Brooklyn with Tracee Ellis Ross, the former first lady did not sugar-coat her verdict. “We ain’t ready,” she said, brushing off the long running fantasy that she might run herself. “Do not look at me. You’re not ready for a woman.”

Michelle was promoting her new book “The Look,” which revisits her fashion choices and political life during her years in the White House. The clip went online Friday and instantly reignited political drama across timelines.

For Democrats, she remains the one figure who could walk into a presidential race and break the internet, but she has rejected the idea for nearly a decade. She campaigned for Harris last year, warning voters against Donald Trump and stressing the stakes for women’s health.

At a rally in Michigan before the election, she insisted Harris had proved she was capable. “The real question is whether the country is ready,” she said.

Judging by Michelle’s latest comments, her answer is still a hard no.
