Migori County Governor Ochilo Ayacko has issued a stern to healthcare workers involved in the theft and illegal business of drugs in the county health facilities.
The County Governor said that the people who will be found to be involved in the illegal business that denies the sick proper medical care will be dealt with accordingly and face the full force of the law.
He said that there have been cases of drugs and medical equipment getting lost without trace in many healthcare facilities within the county and anybody who will be found to have been or is involved in the business with some cartels will be forced out or face the law alone.
He urged and called upon members of the public seeking health services to be more vigilant and report any suspicious case they think involves any health workers in the drug cartels in the county healthcare facilities.
The Governor was speaking when he commissioned and flagged off a consignment of drugs procured from the Kenya Medical Services Agency.
The drugs will be disbursed to all the eight sub-county health care facilities within the vast Migori County.
