Migori: Police Seize Bhang Worth Ksh 420,000

Police officers from Isibania Police Station recovered two sacks of bhang and arrested one suspect in connection to the haul.

According to National Police Service (NPS), the suspect was arrested along Motemorabu-Mabera road with sacks of the narcotics drugs with an estimated street value of Ksh. 420,000 that were fastened on a motorbike he was riding.

“The National Police Service lauds efforts by the public in ridding communities of narcotic drugs and substances,” NPS said.

Police in the same area had seized 20 sacks of marijuana that were being transported to Nairobi but were being stored in a house in the border town less than a week before.

The illegal substance, estimated to be worth Ksh 5.5 million on the black market, is thought to have crossed the border from Tanzania via Isebania.

Migori County Police Commander Mark Wanjala confirmed the incident and stated that the arrest was made due to a community tip.
