Three officers were arraigned in court where they faced several charges of fraud contrary to the law.
The three, Kennedy Onyango Handa, Kennedy Odhiambo Akech, and Judith Akoth Asiyo were charged that on diverse dates between August 7th and 13th 2021, in Nairobi County, conspired to defraud Jadavji Shivji Vagjiani a total sum of Ksh 1.2 million in the pretense that they would facilitate the issuance of Permanent resident certificate a fact they knew to be false.
The three were also charged with obtaining Ksh 1.2 million from Varsani Dipark Premji by the false pretense that they would process and issue a genuine permanent resident certificate to the said Varsani.
Further, they were also charged with obtaining Ksh 1.2 million from another Indian national namely Varsani Valji Ramji by falsely pretending they were in a position to process and issue a genuine permanent resident certificate to the said Ramji.
They also faced charges of forging a stamp purporting to be a department of Immigration stamp and endorsed to the passport of Varsani Depark Premji without lawful authority.
They were also charged with making a permanent resident certificate without lawful authority with the intent to deceive Varsani Depark.
The three who are out on Bond appeared before Milimani Magistrate Caroline Muthoni for the amendment of their charges.
