Benedict Mugo and Moses Labu Kangere were arraigned in court on June 24,2022 to answer charges of assault causing actual bodily harm to an advocate.
The two officers stationed at Dandora Police station, Kamukunji Sub-County in Nairobi are accused of assaulting Mr. Joseph Kinuthia Nyambura on June 23,2022.
However, the plea taking was differed after Senior Counsel Dunstan Omari intervened in the case and volunteered to take lead to midwife out of court settlement.
The presiding Magistrate, Chief Magistrate Micheni Wendy, in her ruling allowed the application. “Since the victim is an advocate and an officer of the court and he is well represented, I will allow the application to proceed, the matter will be mentioned on Monday June 27,2022.” Said the magistrate.
