MOH Meets County, Govt Officials Over Healthcare Challenges

Written By Vanessa Kariuki ||

The Ministry of Health convened a high-level discussion on human resources for health today in Nairobi.

It brought together diverse players in the healthcare business to discuss the industry’s difficulties.

The state of the 2017–2021 Collective Bargaining Agreements between the Ministry of Health and the KMPDU was one of the main topics covered.

The gathering gave participants a chance to evaluate the results so far and pinpoint areas that still need work.

Dr. Nakhumicha S. Wafula, the CS for Health, stressed the commitment of the government to enhancing Kenya’s healthcare system.

That the government is devoted to making sure that medical professionals are fairly compensated and inspired to offer Kenyans high-quality care.

The discussion also covered the placement of interns, the continuation of contracts for healthcare professionals employed under the Universal Health Care (UHC) program, and COVID-19 specialists.

The goal was to come up with solutions that would make healthcare employees’ working circumstances better.

Along with Hon. Muthomi Njuki and Hon. Johnson Sakaja, representatives from the PSC, SRC, Ministry of Labor, Council of Governors Chairpersons for the Health and LaborCommittees, and the Ministry of Public Service, Affirmative Action, and Gender were present.
