Cliff Momanyi, a Kisii-based clinical officer who went missing after testifying in the ongoing murder case of Sharon Otieno against Migori Governor Okoth Obado at the Milimani Law Courts on Wednesday has returned home safely.

Mary Kimaiga, Momanyi’s wife confirmed that the medic returned safely back to their Gesusu home in Masaba South, Kisii County in the wee hours of Friday, March 25.

Momanyi gave his testimony on Wednesday and became unreachable on phone, prompting his family to report the matter to Kisii Central Police Station.

While testifying in court, Momanyi confessed to having falsified medical forms for Oyamo without examining him to show he was ailing during the period of Sharon’s abduction and death.

The court heard that the witness told the court that when he was filling in the medical records, Oyamo was not physically present with him.

He told trial Judge Cecilia Githua that one of the forms was to indicate that Oyamo needed referral from Kisii to Kisumu hospital.

After testifying, the medic was reported missing and his family filed a missing person’s report at the Kisii Central Police Station under the OB Number 54/23/3/2022.

His phone signal was last traced to Bomet on Wednesday evening before being reported missing.

However, he returned to his Gesusu home on Friday morning, with his wife claiming that she had discovered that Momanyi had gone to his parents’ house without alerting her.
