Police are investigating a case in which a taxi driver in Mai Mahiu in Naivasha was allegedly murdered and his body dumped in Machakos County.
According to the Machakos County Criminal Investigations Officer Benedict Kigen, the body of the man identified as Sammuel Mwangi Njoroge was discovered on May 5th, 2025, in a thicket in Kalama Sub County along Katumani-Konza-Mombasa highway.
Kigen said the body of the taxi driver who hailed from Eldama Ravine had head and other body injuries.
It was taken to the Machakos Level Five hospital mortuary where it was identified through fingerprints.
He told journalists in his office that the investigation has been taken over by detectives from Naivasha where the heinous crime is suspected to have been committed.
Kigen said the wife of the deceased reported that her husband who operated a taxi Mai Mahiu was purportedly called by a person who wanted to take their kin to hospital.
She later reported a case of a missing person at the Naivasha police station after she failed to trace him.
