MOH Explores Effective Strategies To Combat Malaria’s Impact

Kenya has achieved much in the fight against malaria, making outstanding achievements in lowering the prevalence of the disease.

The Ministry of Health is actively considering how to expand on these successes.

Mary Muthoni, the principal secretary of the State Department for public health and professional standards, had discussions with representatives of USAID Kenya and the Presidential Malaria Initiative (PMI).

The goal of these conversations was to examine methods for putting a stop to malaria that are both effective and long-lasting.

The idea of utilising Community Health Promoters (CHPs) and Primary Care Networks (PCNs) to treat malaria in high-risk and underserved groups was at the centre of these discussions.

Additionally, they talked about PMI’s assistance with the impending Mass Net Distribution Campaign. The impact of malaria in the nation will be significantly reduced because to this effort.
