A Mass Drug Administration (MDA) operation aimed at eradicating intestinal worms and bilharzia in Siaya County is now being launched under the direction of Mary Muthoni Muriuki, HSC, Principal Secretary of the State Department of Public Health and Professional Standards.
The Ministry of Health’s thorough burden assessment of the Lake Region led to the decision to launch this effort, underscoring the need for preventative MDA to stop the spread of these two Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).
