IPOA Probes Police Excesses During Elections

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is investigating seven cases of shooting and assault during the recently concluded general elections.

The authority also say they are probing the injury of Mohamed Ahmed Qanyare and Abdikeyr Mohamed Mohamud inside the Eldas constituency tallying centre on the same day in Wajir County.

Investigations are also ongoing into the alleged shootings of Amon Kibet on August 8 in Eldoret and Reinhard Omondi Otieno on August 15 in Arina Estate, Kisumu County, which occurred during protests after the announcement of the presidential results.
