BY PRUDENCE WANZA – Moi university lecturer, Nairobi campus and the head of the Tourism management department has been charged with obtaining a credit of over Sh. 900,000 contrary to the law.

Beatrice Omunga Ohutso Imbaya is accused of incurring debt or liability by obtaining credit to the amount of Ksh.986,689 from one Peter Nganga by falsely pretending that she would refund 12 air tickets for Nairobi girls Chorale after a concert in Chicago, USA.

Omunga who is also the patron of the Nairobi girls chorale is alleged to have committed the offense on 21st May 2016 at Best Travels Limited in Nairobi.

She denied the charge before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi at the Milimani law courts.

She was released on a bond of Sh. 300,000 or an alternative cash bail of Ksh. 200,000.

The case will be mentioned on 8th October 2019.
