Kenya National Highways Authority(KeNHA) projects have fully decongested Mombasa and the satellite towns around it. – By Enock Mukoma.
This follows the major rehabilitation of Mombasa Town-Makupa- Changamwe-Mikindani highways. Consequently, vehicle movement out of the port city to upcountry has improved tremendously.
The road was constructed by the Third Engineering Bureau of China City Construction Company, supervised by the Kenya National Highways Authority.
It is funded by the African Development Bank(ADB). Decongestion of the tourist hub city has been a key priority to President Uhuru Kenyatta under the Big Four Agenda.
It is a key cog of the economic stimulus plans for the Coast region.

By providing an expanded road into and out of the island city, the upgrade will ensure smooth transition into and out of the busy Moi International Airport.
