Mombasa Governor Nassir Inspects Mwakirunge Road

Mombasa County governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir has received his working briefing as he inspected the 24-kilometer Mwakirunge Road connecting Mtwapa and Kaloleni that is currently under construction by the Kenya Rural Roads Authority.

In a Facebook post, the governor said that they have been assured by the contractor that the 9 kilometers of this road that fall within Mombasa shall be completed as per the set timelines.

According to the governor, this will ease access to Mwakirunge for the county’s garbage trucks and enhance efficiency of service delivery.

This is after the County Government of Mombasa designated a dumpsite in Mwakirunge in Kisauni sub-county to serve as the central depository for solid waste.

“Efficient access to this dumpsite by collection trucks is key for timely waste disposal,” the governor said.

Yesterday, Nassir assigned his Deputy. HE Francis Thoya the responsibility of overseeing the Rapid Results Initiative to clean up Mombasa within the first 100 days.
