Montana Bar Massacre: Four Killed, Armed Suspect on the Run

Authorities in Montana are hunting for a gunman after four people were killed in a mass shooting at The Owl Bar in Anaconda on Thursday night.

The Montana Division of Criminal Investigation confirmed the shooting occurred around 10:30pm local time. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has since joined local law enforcement in the investigation.

The suspect, identified as Michael Paul Brown, is believed to be armed and dangerous.

In a public alert, the Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Center urged residents to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the suspect.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte said he is closely monitoring the situation and thanked first responders for their swift action.

Anaconda, a small town of nearly 10,000 residents located 175km west of Bozeman, has been left shaken by the tragedy.

Authorities have not released further details on the victims, and investigations are ongoing.
